This is a absolutely beautiful travel film that I thoroughly enjoyed watching. I was about the same age as the little girl in the film so it is kinda sentimental to me as I watched it. Thanks for sharing this.

Glad you feel confident enough to give this a 5-star rating before you've even watched it.
Why not try watching it first, and THEN submitting a rating?????
Dumbass.

That my brother and I were packed off to Alamagordo New Mexico and took a similar tour with aunt, uncle, and cousin in summer of '56 or '57. Went to 3 of the places in this film. Brought back the memories indeed. And, as a teacher of media (was - chemistry currently) I am very interested in material like this. Totally cool

This brought back so many memories. I almost thought this was an old family film of ours for a moment.

I found the film nostalgic because it was made in the 1950's, but like many home movies, it did drag a little for me.

You Know, a confession here, I actually like these type of amateur home movies rather then the Medicus ones.. Why? Because in these. And with the Colaci rolls as well, there¡¯s actual families in them, you get to go on vacation with them! With the Medicuses. We were left trying to figure out who the Medicuses were and whether they were even having a good time.
In ¡®The Saga of The Happy Wanderers¡¯ it¡¯s clear to see that the family, although they are not identified except in a small birthday party where we find out the daughter¡¯s name is Connie, is having a grand old time traveling from one coast of the USA to the other! The family is a small one, quite attractive female, hyperactive daughter, and one big lout of a man. They go everyplace, from Hoover Dam to Miami Florida (to see the grandparents it looks like!) I really, again, loved this as it showed equal parts scenery, and equal parts family members hogging the camera. I especially liked Connie, what a ham she was.
This is a MUST SEE on this site!

If you find watching other peoples family videos exciting then this is the film for you!! Not for me! Although I did find it amusing when you consider this was fimed entirely by an amatuer home filmaker. It gives you an authentic feel for 1950's America (no actors, scripts of other ficticous material). I just got tired of seeing that bratty little girl waving at the camera over and over.
